Updates on Paw Prints
Hello Paw Prints readers,
We are excited to announce next steps for the journal. Having launched in Spring 2025, the journal is now part of a newly created Humanities publications enterprise, Ink & Ore. The Enterprise will offer advanced students continued opportunities to review, select, edit, and publish student writing, and first-year students will be able to submit their work for publication as well as a $100.00 publication scholarship to be awarded the semester after the issue is released.
Paw Prints submission process remains the same. You'll need the following ready to submit:
- a polished version of your article (only those pieces written in UN 1015: Composition are accepted) in APA style
- a writer's statement in which you describe your goals, intentions, and motivation for writing about the piece.
- An abstract (a short summary of the full article)
Participation in Ink&Ore is eligible for inclusion for Enterprise minors or concentration. Non-Humanities majors who wish to apply their credits in this way should contact the faculty advisors, Holly Hassel and Matt Seigel and their department advisor.
The Ink&Ore Enterprise will meet weekly during the Fall semester Wednesdays at 5 pm in the writing center (Walker 107) and course registration is now available in Banweb.
Ink&Ore will also include teams working on special projects for the Lode (the MTU student newspaper) and, in 2025-2026, creating and launching a student literary magazine with publication aimed for Spring 2026.
